Mardi Gras is right around the corner!

Last year I had my first Mardi Gras encounter and guess what.....
I'M DOING IT AGAIN!
This weekend I will be headed to New Orleans to get down and crazy and just enjoy myself for the best festivities of the year. Parades, beads, Hand Grenade drinks, Cafe du Monde, I JUST CAN'T GET ENOUGH!

I am looking forward to a great weekend with some great friends, food and partying. Can't Wait!

If you are heading down and need someplace to stay here are my suggestions....BOOK NOW! It is this weekend. Many people have hotels for TOMORROW through TUESDAY. You need to find a place ASAP. They will be pricey but here are some places I saw that had decent deals and below are the sites:

I'm Back!

Hey guys,
I have taken a long break recently and I apologize. I have started my second semester at Louisiana State University and the first semester bogged me down with classwork, a job and joining a business fraternity. This semester I am a Marketing Intern with LSU Student Media on top of all of that.
Here are some photos from my first semester:

I enjoyed time with my boyfriend, I got a kitten name Dexter, I went to some great football games and made some great friends.

I look forward to posting more and engaging with all of you once again!  I am back and ready to post more than ever!

I have some exciting stuff coming up so please stay connected with me as some surprises are headed your way! :)

How to Beat the Heat this Summer

The summer is full of fun, but when faced with very hot temperatures we face some problems. Having to cool down, being lazy and the worst: sunburns.
I have some ways that you can have a great summer while beating the heat!

1. Use Sunscreen
This may seem very basic, but many people ignore using sunscreen. DON'T! You can still get a good tan with sunscreen, with the added bonus of preventing horrible burns and protecting yourself from skin cancer.

2. Make a Beverage Boat for the Pool or Beach
Grab some floating pool noodles and cut it into 4 pieces (two long and two short). Use strong string or rope and push it through the noodle wholes and tie so that it forms a rectangle. Place a plastic container full of ice and drinks inside the rectangle and there you go!

3. Make Your Own Slip N Slide
It's very simple to make. You need a huge sheet of plastic, dish soap, a hill, water, and stakes. You lay out the plastic sheet from the top of the hill and apply dish soap and water to the plastic. Use the stakes to keep each of the ends of the plastic in place so it doesn't move when someones sliding. All of the neighborhood kids will be lined up to try it!

4.Freeze Aloe Vera to Soothe a Sunburn
Make sure Aloe Vera is the only ingredient in your Aloe Gel. Grab an ice cube tray and fill it with the Aloe. Let it freeze and then it's perfect to rub on your harsh sunburns.

Hope these help you beat the heat this summer :)

5 Great Ways to Take Travel Pictures

Tired of going on vacation and taking the same pictures over and over again? Want to have all your friends be in awe of your great photos? Here are some ways to take creative travel pictures that will make your trip more memorable.

1. Hold On!

Looking through old pictures, everyone has the same boring poses when they are taking a picture of a famous landmark. A great way to make the picture more unique is adjust the perspective so it looks like you are grabbing, touching or holding the landmark!

2. Use Props
Create an awesome effect using a prop. The best examples have the focus correct to blend the prop with the background.

3. Incorporate the Sun
The sun is an awesome tool to use while taking pictures. Use it as a great background or make it part of an illusion by grabbing it or circling it.

4. Always Have a Camera Ready
You don't want to miss those shots that only come once in a lifetime. Have a camera handy everywhere you go to capture those perfect shots.

5. Be Creative and Have Fun!
Like the title says, go out and think of creative and fun ideas for photos.
